Zu einem Austausch zur Situation der Osteopathie in Europa in Deutschland kam die Vorsitzende des europäischen Dachverbandes „Osteopathy Europe“ (OE), Hanna Tómasdóttir D.O., in die Bundesgeschäftsstelle des VOD nach Wiesbaden. Gemeinsam mit den VOD-Vorständen Prof. Marina Fuhrmann D.O. und Ulrike von Tümpling D.O., VOD-Justiziarin Dr. Sylke Wagner Burkard und VOD-Geschäftsführer Ctirad Kotoucek standen Themen wie Patientenschutz und Verbraucherschutz durch Regulierung und Forschung auf der Agenda. Konstruktiv und kreativ besprach man gemeinsame Ziele, um die Osteopathie in Europa gemeinsam auf einem hohen Qualitätslevel zu etablieren.

„Eine gesetzliche Regelung gibt allen Sicherheit, Osteopathen und Patienten. Sorgen, dass man in der Ausübung eingeschränkt wird, kann ich aus eigener Erfahrung verneinen“, machte Osteopathin Hanna Tómasdóttir D.O. klar, die die berufsgesetzliche Regelung in Dänemark maßgeblich begleitet hat. Ein Berufsgesetz führe zu einer Win-Win-Situation für alle Beteiligten.

The president of the European umbrella organisation "Osteopathy Europe" (OE), Hanna Tómasdóttir D.O., came to the federal office of the VOD in Wiesbaden Germany, for an exchange on the situation of osteopathy in Europe. Together with the VOD board members Prof. Marina Fuhrmann D.O. and Ulrike von Tümpling D.O., VOD legal advisor Dr. Sylke Wagner Burkard and VOD managing director Ctirad Kotoucek, topics such as patient protection and consumer protection through regulation and research were on the agenda. Constructively and creatively, common goals were discussed in order to jointly establish osteopathy in Europe at a high quality level.

"A legal regulation gives security to everyone, osteopaths and patients. From my own experience, I can deny any worries that you will be restricted in your practice," said osteopath Hanna Tómasdóttir D.O., who has played a key role in the professional regulation in Denmark. A professional law would lead to a win-win situation for all parties involved.
